2010 Naples Watermelon festival & Parade

It was that time of year again when the streets of Naples rolled up and the watermelon rolled out...this past weekend was watermelon festival time!!! Out of everything we do as a family, the watermelon festival has to be one of our favorite things. It just wraps up the whole small town feel and we LOVE it! This year Gunner & Karlee got to be in the parade too. They thought waving at everyone and throwing candy was pretty neat. We're so lucky that Holly invited us to ride with her...thank you Holl!
After the parade we hung out at Travis and Holly's for a little while then headed back down to the festival to ride the ponies and eat some watermelon.
Gunner & Karlee have been riding these ponies since they were sooooooo little! I can't believe that they are finally old enough to hang out without the help of Scott. As neat as it is, it's a little sad for me. My babies are officially growing up :( They loved the ponies (of course, they're my kiddos!) and Karlee almost started to cry when it was time to dismount (really, her bottom lip started to quiver!)
After the ponies it was watermelon time! And the little ones didn't disappoint us at all, they ate watermelon like it was the best thing ever. Karlee's a lot like me when it comes to seeds in watermelons: they just tick me off! After she spent about 20 minutes picking all of her seeds out she finally dug in. Gunner didn't get the seeds stop him, in fact, he really enjoyed spitting seeds back and forth with Scott!
We had a great time and are already looking forward to next year...wanna come?!?!
