I had written a longgggg post about Scott's birthday and when I clicked publish it all got deleted....yuck! So I'm sorry, I don't have the energy to write it again, plus, when I try to remember what I wrote it doesn't sound as cute as I originally thought it did :)

Papa & Noni come to visit

Papa & Noni drove back to visit the week after our freak snow storm. They drove all the way from California to Texas and brought their camper trailer with them! That meant G&K got to sleep in the trailer-sooo fun!
We had so much fun with them here. Noni bounced for HOURS with the kids on the trampoline, they had a fun trip to the zoo in Tyler, went and visited Uncle Bob, brought me wine barrels for flowers and just had a great time!

January 2011 Snow Day

A couple days into the New Year we were told to expect some 'winter weather' and maybe a little bit of snow....what that 'little bit' of snow turned in to was a LOT more than a little bit of snow! It started Sunday while we were at Church, and when it started the roads started icing. I got called in to work to go to our EOC, but never quite made it. Thanks to my bald tires and lack of snow driving experience, I ended up crossing a creek and sliding in to a ditch. (And no, I didn't hit my brakes!) The rest of that day the snow fell and by the next morning we had some serious white stuff on the ground to play with! Soooo much fun :)

Christmas 2010

Wow, time to play some catch-up since I've been lagging lately!
Christmas was spent with Grandma and Baja. They came back to spend Christmas and New Year's with us and we all had a great time.
We started a new tradition this year: Gingerbread houses! The kids LOVED eating the frosting and candy as we were making them. I discovered I am NOT patient enough to build houses, good thing Scott, Grandma & Baja were there!
Christmas morning the kids woke up to a living room full of presents and I think they got everything they wanted and then some! It was a great Christmas :)
We had such a nice visit, they're just always over too quickly!

It's been a long time......

It's been a LONG time since I have posted, and I am truly sorry! Most all of you know why the blog has been so dead and lifeless lately, but just in case any of you don't have facebook and don't know why I've been MIA, I thought I had better update you.

Gunner & Karlee have a little secret they want to share:

Yep, we're having another Munchkin!!!

Today marks 13 weeks along in the pregnancy, so things are moving along pretty quickly! If you will notice when the blog started lagging, you will see it was right around the time I got pregnant (November), even though *I* didn't know I was pregnant at the time the lagging started!

Scott & I are thrilled beyond belief, but our excitement is nothing compared to G&K's. They are ecstatic! Karlee wants me to have a girl and name her either Santa Claus, Addison (a friend's name at school) or Miss Tess (a teacher at school). Gunner really wants a boy, but if she's a girl he wants her to be named Miss Jillian (after one of his teachers at school). It's so cute to watch them with the pregnancy and to see how they process things. They both really want the baby to be here so they can play with it. Karlee can't wait to give it a bath and Gunner can't wait to take it for a ride in his jeep. We have finally got them to understand that they baby won't be here until it gets REALLY HOT outside...you should see Gunner get up to watch the news every morning...he tells me he's waiting to see if it will be hot today! (This happens almost every day!) I can't tell you how nice it is that they seem excited about a new baby. It will be a big adjustment for them, and I'm happy that so far they are looking forward to it.

My estimated due date is August 5th, but this sweet little miracle will probably make it's grand entrance a couple weeks before that.

I'm sure it's changed quite a bit since then since that was over a month ago, but since no one has seen this picture yet (not even facebook!) I thought I would share it.

Now that I've hit 13 weeks I really hope I start getting back to my old self where I do dishes every night, update the blog and don't fall asleep before 9pm! I know I'm not the only one in my family who feels the same way!

I'm going to start a little pregnancy blog/journal so I don't bogg this blog down too much with appointment info and all of that boring stuff. It will be a place where I keep up with what's happening so I have a little journal to look back on once the little Guppy is here. If you'd like to keep up with that one, the address is

...Oh, and did I mention we're not going to find out what we're having with this one?!?! We're thinking since we've already been blessed with one of each, what an amazing surprise it will be! I'm also secretly hoping that if we don't know what we're having, maybe the birth won't end like this:

Yeah, he's passed out! And, he doesn't have a clue I posted this picture on here, so if you really love me (and if you want this picture to stay here!) you will keep this our little secret :)

I promise in the next few weeks (hopefully sooner) I will update the blog with all I have missed over the past few months. We have Christmas to post about along with Grandma and Baja coming to visit, a snow day (not too many pictures of that since it was a 'bad day' for me) and we have Papa and Noni's visit to share too! Santa comes to the Fire Department!

Thursday night, while Scott played Santa for the last time for the Police Department's Blue Christmas (This is the last year they are doing blue Christmas), the kids and I met with the REAL Santa at the Fire Department. Santa brought Santa Sacks for the kids (bags filled with fruit, candy, gum, cracker jacks and candy canes!) as well as a special suprise for each child that they were allowed to open before Christmas! After Santa handed out all of the goodies, the kids got to go for a ride on the fire engines, complete with lights and sirens. Karlee rode on top with other kids and some firemen all by herself (without me!) and Gunner & I rode inside because Gman wanted to "be a fighterman and the fightermen ride inside!"
We had a great time and they are STILL talking about it. They keep telling Scott they are sorry he had to work and maybe next time if he's good he can go see Santa!!!

Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree!

Our 2010 hunt for the 'perfect' tree wasn't as easy as it has been in year's past. We went to the same tree farm, they had the same beautiful Christmas trees, but we could NOT find one we all agreed on! Some were too tall, some too short. Some were too bushy and some too thin. We searched and searched and still couldn't find one we loved. The Bailey's came with us and didn't seem to have any trouble at all finding their perfect tree, so after they found theirs and we got it chopped down we headed over to the Fort for lunch. They have the cutest little playground and have campfires going so if you want to BBQ lunch you can. We brought hot dogs and had us a nice little weenie roast while the kids played on the playground. After lunch the search continued...but not for long. By then we were all tired and cold. we FINALLY found our perfect tree that we could all agree on...and it's Lovely!

It was a great day with great friends and we're so happy that the Bailey's could join us this year. We're looking forward to many more years doing this with the kiddos. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

2010 Church Christmas Play

I have been HORRIBLE at blogging lately..sorry!
Last weekend was our Church's annual Christmas Play. This year Gunner & Karlee got to be in it. The sweet lady who organized it realized that they were too young, but wanted to include everyone, so the little kids were 'sheep'...and they were absolutley allowed to run around, out of control...PERFECT for 3 year olds!
Gunner & Karlee were the cutest sheep ever! In the middle of the play Gunner found a hole in our Church floor and announced it to 3/4 of the Church (yeah, proud Mommy-moment...not!)
They sung, they danced, they had the time of their life. We're so lucky to be apart of such a great Church family!!!

Birthay party with friends

Two weekends ago I took Gunner & Karlee to one of their classmates birthday party at the coolest place ever...THE PARTY ZONE! It puts any other birthday party location to shame. It has not one, but TWO indoor bounce houses, air hockey, ride on toys, kick ball...I'm probably forgetting a couple things. The best part is that it's INDOORS, so it doesn't matter what kind of Texas weather we're having.
The kids had a BLAST with their friends from school and I had a great time getting to know some of the other parents!

Salvation Army bell ringers!!!

My little Doodlebugs and I checked another activity off of our bucket list: We rang the bell outside Walmart for the Salvation Army!!!
My entire life I have always wanted to ring the bell, but thought you had to be 'someone special' to do it. WRONG! When I had the chance I jumped at it, and so glad we did. Gunner & Karlee LOVED ringing the bell and waving at all of the shoppers walking into walmart. Some of the people even let the kiddos put money in the kettle for them and you should have seen the kids faces! WHenever that would happen they would squeal with delight and give the person donating a big hug...then you should have seen the donator's face: complete disbelief that they were being hugged by a complete stranger, and at age 3 no less!
Selfishly this was SUCH a great thing to do. You have no idea how GOOD it feels to do something so positive! You should try it in a town near you, all of the 'cool kids' are doing it :)

Weekend fun

Our friends, Grant and Treva left Friday night and with them went a legend in Scott's life. A legend in my life too. The old Brown truck. When I FIRST went to college in Coalinga, before I ever met Scott, my Mom and my two roommates went looking for an Apartment. As we walked down to the apartment that would later change my life, I walked past a brown truck and my heart skipped a beat. No joke. I promise as I walked past this brown truck I thought "Hmmmmm, wonder who drives THIS truck!?!" Little did I know all of these years later that truck would carry me on dates, take me to and from classes, and ride all the way across the COUNTRY as I moved to a whole new state! So as special as this truck is to Scott, it holds a special place in my heart as well.
Scott's friend Grant is the BEST Mechanic EVER known to Man. He's also the nicest person known to Man, because he agreed to haul Brownie (that's it's name!) home with him and work on fixing it for us over the coming year. He'll bring it back at some point, and when he does, Scott has promised to take me on a date, and pick the kiddos up from school in the 'monster truck' as Gunner calls it.
Grant & Treva also took 2 of our Catahoula puppies home with them!!! What's really cool, is Grant and Treva are the reason Scott loves Catahoula's so much, and as luck would have it, these puppies are related to that first dog of theirs that started Scott's love for the breed. Kinda cool that it's run full circle and they now have two of our dogs!
Today (Sunday) the kiddos got to shred the pasture with Scott and then the Bailey family came over to work some dogs.
Great day :)

Gators & Friends

Grant, Treva & Lucy are here this week (yay!!!) so Saturday Treva, the kids and myself loaded up and headed to Louisiana to visit Gators & Friends, an alligator park I have been dying to visit for quite sometime. It was AHHHHMAZING! All of the alligators were pretty much sleeping (they only eat during warm months and slep during cold months) but we did get to hold a baby alligator and pet all kinds of wild animals. I'm the BIGGEST animal lover, so anytime I can pet an animal I am in Heaven! One of the creatures stole my heart...a camel! He was sooooo sweet! He had the biggest lips that would swallow your fingers right up, but never EVER did I feel teeth! He was just awesome and seriously, if he's ever up for adoption I am taking him home! Even Gunner loved him and said he would let him sleep in his room if I brought him home :)
So fun, can't wait to go back. I even told Scott I wanted to go there for my birthday. I kinda think he thinks I'm joking....crazy guy!

Happy Halloween

We did Halloween a little goofy and did all of our dressing up and trick or treating on Saturday night. The City has a Halloween carnival that does safe trick or treating, so we did that for a couple hours, and then headed to Naples to do some real Trick or Treating. I didn't take my camera trick or treating (sorry!) but I did take it to the carnival :)

Pumpkin Patch 2010

We met our good friends, the Waltrip Family, last weekend at the pumpkin patch to have some fun! We almost got rained out, but luckly for us the rain stayed away until the very end of our pumpkin patchin'!
We ran around, went for a hay ride, went through the hay maze and posed for a bunch of pictures before the day was over. Hard to believe this was the very first outing we ever took the kiddos on and that so much time has passed so quickly!

Pumpkin decorating!

After the Pumpkin patch last weekend we decorated our pumpkins with the uber-cute kits that our friends Amy, Justin and Kinsler got the kids for their birthdays. SO CUTE! (OH mygosh..I know I STILL haven't posted the pumpkin patch pics...I will try to really soon!)
Anyway, the kits were too much fun! Thank you R family!!!
