Last weekend Scott went down to the gulf for Travis’s Bachelor party, so the kiddos and I were on our own. As much as we missed him being with us, we had a great time! Early in the day Saturday we headed to one of the kids classmate’s house for a birthday party. Anytime their weekend can get kicked off with cake and ice cream, they are happy munchkins.
After the birthday party, we headed to town for the Championship Outhouse races in Mt. Pleasant! My work has an outhouse entered in the contest so the kids posed on it (you can see below). After the outhouse races they have kids races: a Little Buns Fun Run and Kiddie car races. Even though it was for ages 3 and up, they still let my kids enter…helps when your boss is putting on the race :) They did great! The first race they weren’t too sure what to do and didn’t quite run fast enough, but by the time the car races started they had it figured out and were ready to RACE! Karlee WON in her age group!!! So then she had to come back and race in the Championship race against all of the other winners and she was ready! The announcer said, “Ready…Set..” And Karlee took OFF! So I told her to go back to the starting line. She was in the middle of backing up when he yelled, “GO!” so the momentum of trying to back up and trying to run made her have a rollover!!! Check out the picture!!! You should have seen her…she was bawling so I thought she was hurt…Nope! She was MAD! She wanted to win so she could get a necklace!! They gave EVERYONE a participant medal, whether you won or not…she thought she had to win to get another one!!! After the crash they got corn dogs for dinner, so life was good again. The “Crash” picture is her favorite picture she’s ever taken. Every, single day she asks if she can see her ‘cashing’ picture. As soon as I pull it up she yells “OOOOOOUCH!”
We had wanted to stay to watch the movie in the park (ET was playing!) but after the fun of racing and playing in a bounce house, they were pooped, so we headed home. Great fun!!!
