Crawfish Boil with some friends

I’m sure you’ll remember our exciting trip to Louisiana…where we broke down on the side of the road, got stuck in the middle of a tornado, and then drove all night to arrive back home at our house at 4:45am? The reason we had to rush home and drive all night was because we had a Crawfish boil planned and we had people coming over!

Our friends Danny and Abby sent us home with enough Crawfish to feed half of the County, so we had ourselves a great time trying to do so :)

Gunner & Karlee tried Crawfish for the first time, and actually liked them. Luckily they don’t let my crinkled nose and the fact that I don’t eat anything that ever lived in water stop them from trying new things! They loved getting to try to crack them open, and they thought getting to eat right off the table with their hands (no plates and silverware!) was pretty darn cool.

Aunt Holly taught the kids how to try to catch crawfish with a stick. Although some (of the crawfish!) didn’t quite live through the fun (poking/prodding/stabbing), they still tasted okay.

We had a great time with our friends, chatting and catching up and visiting. Hopefully we can do it again sometime soon :)
