Chatter of the week

Until Gunner & Karlee really start to talk and the “newness” wears off of hearing them say things I’m going to try to post little snippets of things they say here and there. Here’s a couple:

This morning, Scott had Gunner on the changing table and was getting him dressed. As Scott stood Gunner up to pull his shorts up Gunner says, “You pretty Daddy” and then plants a kiss on Scott’s lips! Scott says, “I’m pretty?” and Gunner hugs him and says “Awwwww” (How cute is that?!?!)

Karlee has been sick this past week. VERY sick. Temps of 106….yeah, scary! I tell you t his because she’s been slightly GRUMPY. I was home with her yesterday, and I had gone into the laundry room. I called for her, “Karlee”. I heard something, but couldn’t see her. I called again, “Karlee”. Again, I heard her but couldn’t see her. I called a third time, “KARLEE.” This time I happened to look down…straight down to the hallway as she said in a VERY frustrated, LOUD, why-do-you-keep-asking-me-the-same-question tone in her voice, “I SEEEEEEP Mommy.” And then laid her head back down on a blanket and continued to try to nap on a quilt that was laying on the ground. She had been laying their the entire time, but was so still I didn’t even realize she was right in front of me!

Last night we were eating dinner when the phone rang. While I was up answering it, Gunner threw his dinner plate on the ground as this has become a new game between the kids and the dogs. When I came back I said “Why did you do that, Gunner?” He replied, “Sooooter did it.” I said “No he didn’t, he’s not tall enough” Gunner says, “Oh Garsh.” (Oh Garsh is his newest phrase). (soooooter = Scooter)

Scott was giving Karlee a bath Monday night and noticed a bite (from another child) on her back. He said, “Karlee what happened?” Karlee says, “Saba bit me” Scott says, “Karlee Sheba did NOT bite you!” Karlee says “YES she did. I want a ticker.” (Saba = Sheba) (ticker= sticker)

Hope everyone has a great weekend. As long as Karlee’s fever stays away we have a fun activity planned for tomorrow morning….FISHING! If it works out and doesn’t rain I’ll post pictures next week. For my Texas friends Lil’ Fishers is this weekend at Heritage park….from 9am to noon, and the pond is stocked with LOTS of fish!!! Free to all kids 0-16 years old, no fishing license needed. Come out and play with us :)

  2. I can't wait to hear it with my own ears....I love talking to them on the phone and hear the "I wuv you, and tank you". Karlee has always had a "HI" even when she didn't know what it meant!! Gunner has carried on his OWN conversations for a very long time and I know Karlee knew what he was saying even though we didn't. Have a great weekend.
    love you,
