Our summer vacation in FLORIDA!

My good, good, GOOD friend Mandy lives just outside of Destin, Florida so when she invited us to come stay with her we jumped at the chance. Mandy and I go way back.....back farther than she and I can actually remember since our Mom's had us going to the same babysitter from the time we were a couple of months old. So it's safe to say she is one of my oldest (and dearest!) friends. She knows secrets about me that not many people know....secrets that if I became famous someday could put me on the cover of enquirer!
We headed out for 4 days last week and had such a great time. We got to play on the beach, swim, look for seashells, eat some delicious food and bring home an orange tree (Seriously, we carried a 5-foot orange tree all the way back to Texas!)
For Father's Day, Gunner & Karlee surprised Scott with a deep-sea fishing trip that he got to do on Monday. He had fun fishing with Matt and caught a bunch of fish! While the boys were fishing Mandy and I TRIED to go shopping with the kids, but they had other plans, so we spent most of our shopping time at the playground playing on a pirate ship. After the guys got back from fishing Mandy and I snuck away for some retail therapy and stocked up on some new makeup and perfume.
We had soooooo much fun and can't believe it's already over. We've already decided we're going back next year, but will have to stay an extra day or two.

Funny story: While we were at the beach taking our family photos, Merrick, (Mandy's little guy) took Mason's flip flops and threw them in the water. Not missing a step Mandy jumps in, completely dressed to save the shoes! What a good Mommy!
