Santa came to town a little early!

Santa Claus came to town a little early for some of the children of Mt. Pleasant. The PD put on it's annual Blue Christmas event, where they select children from the community, that, because of circumstances beyond their control, might not have a "great" Christmas. This year the PD had 61 children! During the event a traditional dinner is served, a skit ('Twas the night before Christmas) is performed by police officers, the kids get to make a picture frame, and then the Jolly big Man himself arrives by police car to greet the kids, take a photo with each child (that goes inside their picture frame they just made!) and pass out boxes of presents. Each child leaves with a huge box of presents and with a great memory of interacting with police officers. For the past 4 years Scott and I have gotten the chance to be involved with Blue Christmas and I must say it's something we look forward to year after year. Seeing the look of joy and excitement on the Children's faces is something that touches your heart.
Gunner & Karlee got to sit on Santa's lap after all of the children got their toys, and although they weren't afraid of the "Big Guy" they couldn't quite figure out why he sounded SO familiar. If you look closely at his eyes you might be able to figure out why :)

<--Here you can see Karlee's little wheels just a turnin'! She's thinking "Santa, you look so farmiliar, but I can't put my finger on it!"

  3. What a great way to spread the Christmas spirit! I love Gunners little sweater and Karlee looks so adorable with her little Mary Janes and red ribbon blouse. They always look so cute! They are going to be so proud to share the story of their daddy being Santa Claus.
