This past weekend was the annual Boys-only hunting trip in West Texas. It's a fun weekend filled with BBQ'ing, drinking beer around the campfire, making fun of each other, and a little bit of hunting. We've been having abnormally hot weather so far this year (75-80 degree days) so there wasn't too many deer moving around, which was a little disappointing for the guys, but I think they had fun anyway! The property that they leased this year wasn't all it was cracked up to be, so that will be the first and LAST time they visit that particular ranch.
Okay, little story to go along with the bumper stickers: Dick is a die-hard Republican, so some (unnamed) members of the trip thought it would be funny to stick an Obama sticker on the back of his trailer for the long haul across the state. Well Dick didn't finally spot the stickers until they made it ALL the way to Brownwood...imagine how many people he converted to Obama'ism with his free advertisement!!! No wonder Obama won! Anyway, as you can see in the pictures he was more than overjoyed once he saw what was tacked on the back of his truck. The culprits involved in the prank better watch out...I'm sure paybacks will be hell!
Scott definetely brought home the bacon this time. He got a buck (not very big, but you can't eat the horns anyway!) a doe, and a hog. Needless to say Gunner & Karlee were VERY proud of their Daddy!
John (Scott's Dad) was greatly missed this year. There were far-less pictures taken this year than in trips of the past, so I'm hoping this will be the only trip he misses! Here are some of the pictures I was able to get my hands on...enjoy! (Thank you Tony & Brian for sharing pictures!)
