Just had to share this exciting (SCARY!) news...Karlee Jane took her 1st 3 steps last night!!! It was amazing-Scott and I were both looking at her, so both of us got to share in the excitement!!!
Here's how it happened (yes, I'm a proud Mommy!) She was on the other side of Scott's recliner (about 2 feet from me) and she was free-standing (not hanging on to anything) and facing me. So I held out my hands and said "Karlee come here!" and she laughed (like the deep-belly Santa Claus laugh) and took half a wobbly step...almost falling....but then once she took that half a step she followed it up with 2 1/2 more REAL steps and finally collapsed from laughter (and maybe exhaustion) into my arms! She was SO excited (no, I mean it-like she clapped her hands and laughed at herself almost like she knew she had done something major!) So then the rest of the night she would try to take more steps, but would laugh so much at herself (the deep in your belly Santa Claus-type laugh) that she would knock herself over from laughing so hard!!!
So at 10 months (but just barely because they turned 11 months today!) my little girl is walking...well, sorta!
Can't wait until tonight to watch her do it again!
