We started our day out sleeping in and then having a nice breakfast that Scott cooked for all of us. After Breakfast we headed to church and listened to a great service. After church we headed to a friend’s house to help move some furniture around and the kiddos took a nice long nap. Once they woke up the real fun started! We got done moving furniture a little sooner than we anticipated, so we had about 2 hours to waste before settling down to watch fireworks. Not quite enough time to get home and fix dinner, yet wayyyyy too much time to sit in a parking lot waiting for the fireworks. I was stumped as to what we would do when low-and-behold my wonderful Hubby came up with the BEST idea, and thus a new tradition was born! He suggested we “head to that place with the round food that sells a large one for $5, and then go eat it at that place with a (he’s spelling this out loud) S-L-I-D-E and a S-W-I-N-G” “Ohhhh, so you want to go get a pizza from Little Caesar’s and go to the park and eat it? GREAT IDEA!!!”
And so we did. The kids loved dinner, and loved playing in the park even more. I even had to join in on the action for a few minutes and go down the slide with them. We had soooo much fun and before we knew it Scott was telling us to get in the truck to head to the fireworks. We ended up finding a new ‘secret spot’ to watch the fireworks at too! It was a perfect little hole in the wall that we had all to ourselves.
Such a great night :)
