Our big weekend!

The Country bumpkins headed to the big City over the weekend! Scott and I got an entire weekend away this past weekend for our 5th anniversary. Tony and Linda flew in from California, and got us tickets to a Miranda Lambert fundraiser in Tyler!

Friday night Scott and I got to go to the movies…we got to see TWO movies back to back! Neither of us had ever done that before, and I have to say it was pretty cool. We saw Ghosts of girlfriends past (SO CUTE!) and X-men (SO GOOD!). Then Saturday we packed up and headed to Fort Worth Stockyards to indulge in the night life that we forgot even existed. We met Travis and his girlfriend Erin and had a blast staying out until the early hours of the morning. We spent most of our time at Billy Bob’s, and in one of the pictures you’ll see me putting my hands in the mold of someone else’s hands….that’s GARTH BROOKS’ hands!!! Just to touch something that the MAN once touched made my heart go pitter-patter!!!

Sunday (after sleeping off headaches!) we got up and headed to Tyler for a Miranda Lambert fundraiser. It was her 2nd annual Cause for the Paws, which raises money for the animal shelter in Smith County. SUCH a neat event! And the gorgeous Blake Shelton was there so the show was great. Scott is head over heels in Love with Miranda, so he was in Heaven! Blake and Miranda are absolutely adorable, and have such amazing voices. We had no idea how close we would be either. ROW 6! Like so close I could have thrown something and hit them. You’ll see in some of these pictures they are actually LOOKING in to my camera! It was a wonderful show, and I can’t wait to go back next year. At one point in the show they announced that they only had time for one more song. A guy a couple rows behind us stood up and said that he would pay a $1,000 to hear Miranda sing ‘More like her’. She was so shocked and flattered that she started crying because she couldn’t believe someone would like a song enough to pay a grand for it…how sweet is that?!?!

And remember "Star" from Greatest American Dog?!?! Well Star was there too!
