An Amazing Mother's Day

Happy Late Mother's Day everyone! Hopefully each of you had a very Happy Mother's Day. Mine was wonderful thanks to my husband and kiddos. I actually lucked out and got pampered all weekend! Saturday we spent some time playing outside with Gunner and Karlee. The kids were dying to go swimming, but with thunderstorms in the forecast we made them pretend in their kiddie pool instead. They didn't seem to mind! Scott smoked chicken for us, then we had homemade strawberry ice cream, then watched a chic-flick Saturday night after the kids went to bed. Have all of you seen 'Fireproof'? Watch it, it's wonderful. SUCH a good movie for married couples. It really makes you appreciate your spouse, and makes you a little more accountable for what you say and do.

Sunday we slept in, piddled around the house, played outside a little more, BBQ'ed steaks, then made homemade vanilla ice cream. The kids seemed to like the vanilla ice cream a little more than the strawberry, don't ya think?

I also have to say how spoiled rotten I am (I know, you're all wondering if I just figured that out!) but I am seriously the luckiest lady around. Gunner & Karlee made me butterfly posters and dish towels at school (Check them out....they say I'm one cool chic!) then Scott surprised me with a necklace I had been wanting that I didn't realize he even knew I wanted! We're going to Fort Worth and to a Miranda Lambert concert for our anniversary next weekend and it's the PERFECT necklace! He's just so thoughtful, and I'm so lucky to have him as my partner in life. He even helped the kiddos sign my card for me!
