Going to work with Scott and a Church workday

Saturday's plan was for me to get to sleep in, and for the kids to go with Scott to the feed store and then to his hunting lease to hang some hog feeders. The problem with getting a chance to sleep in after getting up early every single day for the past year? I couldn’t sleep! What is the deal? Any other day of the week I could have slept in until noon, but the one chance I get and I’m up before the kids wake up. SO I let Scott sleep in and I made breakfast sippy cups of milk for the kids. Then I helped get them dressed and loaded up in the truck for the morning date with Daddy. After they left I had thought I might lay down for a little cat-nap, but then the dishes, cobwebs and sweeping called my name too loudly to go back to sleep, so I did at least get a little housework in while I had the house to myself….you wouldn’t know it now though! After a weekend of the four of us home it looks like a tornado struck. Oh well :)

Saturday afternoon we headed down to Caddo to go to work with Scott for a couple hours. Gunner & Karlee LOVED getting to run all over the terminal, and I loved not having to worry about them. The entire area is fenced in, so they were able to run and run without being told to come back! They had a great time getting to eat rocks, grass and climb up the steps. Karlee has also learned to wave and say “Bye”, and does this to everything she encounters, from people, to animals, to cars. Well at Scott’s terminal Big-rig trucks are constantly driving by while fueling up at the neighboring facilities. EVERY time one would drive by she would wave and say “Bu-Bye”. One trucker finally saw her and tooted the horn! You should have seen her jump! Funny stuff :)

Sunday we went to church and then stayed after for a Church workday. The Church had some trees that needed to come down, and any chance Scott gets to run his chainsaw he’s going to jump on. We absolutely love our Church and everything about it, so it was a fun chance to get to spend extra time with good friends. Everywhere they go, Gunner & Karlee are the center of attention and at Church it’s no different. They got chased around by all of the kids and had a blast. They also got to try M&M’s for the first time. It was a birthday party for one of the little girls and her Mom made goody bags and gave Gunner & Karlee some candy…if you look at the family picture of us you can see their messy faces. They weren’t quite sure they liked the candy at first, but quickly realized it was good stuff.

So, not too eventful of a weekend, but one that I wouldn’t change for anything!
