Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving! Amy and LindaKay came to town to shower Gunner & Karlee with some Auntie Lovin' and boy did Gunner & Karlee fall in love with all of the attention. We had a great time spending the weekend together. Amy, Gunner, Karlee and I even got up early Friday morning to do some Black-Friday shopping. LindaKay was a trooper hunting as much as she did. Scott would get her up early in the morning (4am) and they'd be out until about 11am, then they would head out again around 3:30 and stay out in the hunting blind until well after dark. They came home empty-handed until the very last hunt, then as luck would have it they were finally in the right place at the right time, and LindaKay got her first animal! She most-definetely comes from a long-line of hunters because she smoked the deer she killed! Hit it in the exact place and took it down with her first shot. Scott was SOOOO happy! After it was over he expected her to come into the warm house with us girls, but nope-she stayed outside and skinned and gutted most of it herself! On Sunday I turned 27, so they surprised me with a pizza party and birthday cake complete with 27 candles...it took me 3 tries to get all of the candles blown out, so I guess I can officially say I'm getting old :)
We had an amazing time with Amy and LindaKay and are so lucky to have them in our lives. LindaKay mentioned she might try to come back every year for Thanksgiving...that could be a tradition I could get used to very quickly! We love and miss you girls already :)
