This weekend was Christmas tree time, so the Rodgers' clan packed up and headed to the Christmas tree farm. This is a Christmas tree farm that we have been visiting since we moved to Texas, and every year it gets better and better. This is the type of place where memories are made, and the type of place that they REMEMBER you, year after year. They actually remembered the twins from last year, which really made us feel special! This Christmas tree farm is SO neat! When you arrive you load up onto a hayride pulled by a tractor which takes you to the back of the property where they have all of the Christmas trees. Then they dump you out and you're able to walk through acre after acre of Christmas trees until you find the "perfect" tree. Scattered throughout the Christmas trees they have colorful cut-outs, so you stop for a quick photo-op as you're searching for the perfect tree. After you find the "tree" you saw it down then drag it to the road where the tractor then picks you up and hauls you back to the front of the property. They have tons of animals for the kids to play with and a neat little playground called 'The Fort' where they have BBQ pits going so you can cook-out if you want. We packed hot dogs, chili and marshmallows and had the feast of a lifetime. It's always funny how good regular old hot dogs taste when cooked over an open-flame! After we ate lunch we headed back to the cabin to meet Santa Claus! Surprisingly NO TEARS! Gunner was actually more into Santa's mailbox than Santa himself, but I was happy that they were happy.
After a few hours of fun it was time to pack up and head home. As we were leaving Scott actually took the words right out of my brain...he said "Kinda makes you not be able to wait until next year so we can do it again, huh?" And he was absolutely right. As much as I want to slow down Gunner & Karlee's growth and savor it forever, I secretly can't wait until next year because it is just such an amazing place where such amazing memories are made.

Oh these pics are the best! I love them and you took their blankets. It makes me think of how little they were last year in their baby seats!
