On Saturday we packed up in the Tahoe and embarked on an adventure. We headed up to the Talimena Drive in Oklahoma & Arkansas. It's a scenic drive that connects the two states, and when the leaves are changing it is breathtaking.

We headed to Queen Wilamena Lodge for lunch. Queen Wilamena Lodge sits on top of the highest peak of the mountain on the scenic drive.
<---(You can see the lodge on top of the hill in this picture) When we arrived there was an hour and a half wait to be seated at the restaurant, so while we waited we walked down the hill to play on the train.

As we drove back off the mountain, we decided to make a pitt-stop at Beaver's Bend. Beaver's Bend was where we took our first road trip last year...almost exactly a year to the day...when Gunner & Karlee were SO tiny. (last year we went on November 10, this year November 8th). We decided we couldn't pass up a moment to snap a couple pictures in the exact spots where we too photos last year.

Can you even believe how much they've grown???
After we re-created the moment, we took them for a ride in their brand-new wagon they got for their Birthday....safe to say they LOVE it!

Then we let them play in the leaves for awhile before packing up and heading home.

An amazing day, and the start of a new "Rodgers-family" tradition.
North East Texas also had some gorgeous fall-foliage. These are along the road to my house.

And this one is at a friend's house->
