Pierre Part, Louisiana

We went to Pierre Part, Louisiana this past weekend to visit friends and had a blast! Pierre Part is WAYYYY down in southern Louisiana, so we had a LONGGGGG drive...7 hours. Scott met Danny when we sold one of our hog-dogs, Sugar, to him a couple years ago. Since Scott & Danny both like to hunt so much they have been buddies ever since. Danny is married to Abby, who is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met.
On Saturday we headed to an Alligator farm for breakfast, called Gatorville. Great southern food and you could get right up to the Alligators! It was neat, when we got there the alligators were in the water, and actually came when we called them....I'm sure they thought we had food, but it was still neat! The place also had some GREAT photo spots, which was right up my alley! Luckily Abby likes to take pictures as much as I do, so I had a built-in-photographer! She got some awesome pictures of all of us. <---is that not the prettiest picture you've ever seen?!?! Later that day Danny & Abby did a crab boil for us, and it was YUMMY! (Okay, I didn't really LOVE the crab, but everyone else did). The potatoes, corn, sausage, mushrooms and onions were delicious!
<-----Karlee got her 1st kiss from a boy...she didn't like it too well! After it cooled off a bit we jumped in the boat and went for a trip down the bayou...Gunner & Karlee's 1st REAL boat ride!!! They even got brand-new life jackets for the big occasion!

They enjoyed the boat ride quite a bit. Gunner was captivated by the water and the wind blowing in his face. As the sun started to set out came the ALLIGATORS! REAL ALLIGATORS!!! Luckily they're more afraid of us than we are of them (That's what they told me anyway...I still wasn't buying it!) Then the boys decided it would be cool to sneak up on the alligators and try to catch them...thankfully the alligators really were more afraid of us than we were of them and swam off before we got close enough for Scott to lose any more of his fingers!
It was a great weekend. Too short as always, but wonderful anyway. Danny & Abby are two of the sweetest, most generous people we've ever met and we're lucky they are our friends.
